Welcome to the project site for the upcoming film THE LAST SAW SHOP. This film features Carra Blythe, owner/operator of Wayne’s Logging Supply in Iuka, Mississippi.
In March 2025 we kicked off the project, filming with Carra and several of her customers. A few highlights include visiting a logging site and attending Carra’s weekly line dancing class at Ray’s Place. We appreciated meeting so many people Carra is connected to and spending time in the community.
In October 2025, we visited the Mid-South Forestry Equipment show in Starkville, MS. Carra checked out the latest equipment and spoke with many people working in the industry.
The goal of this project is to create a portrait of Carra and her community of forest workers in Northeast Mississippi and explore the context through which this industry emerged and developed into what it is today.
